Privacy
This page is about this website, sudoplay.dev. The app has its own privacy policy (opens in a new tab), which says what Sudo Play sends and stores.

Who is responsible
Alberto Arena maintains this site and is the data controller for it. For any question about this page, or to use one of your rights below, write to hello@albertoarena.it.
What this site loads
Every file on this site comes from sudoplay.dev: the pages, the styles, the icons and the font. The font, Geist Mono, is stored here. It does not come from a font service.
Until you accept analytics, the pages make no request to a third party. There are no embedded videos, no maps, no social buttons and no search service.
The one small script on this site shows the analytics banner and remembers your choice. It comes from sudoplay.dev too, and it loads Google Analytics only after you accept.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to learn which pages people read, but only if you accept. Until you press Accept analytics, nothing from Google loads: not the script, and not a cookieless ping. If you decline, or ignore the banner, Google is never contacted.
Many sites load the Google script at once, in a "denied" mode. That mode sets no cookie, but it still sends your IP address to Google before you agree to anything. This site does not do that.
If you accept, Google Analytics records the pages you visit, the referring page, your approximate location, your device and browser, how far you scroll, and clicks on links leading away from this site, for example to GitHub.
Every advertising feature is switched off: no ad personalisation, no ad storage and no Google Signals, so there is no profile of you across sites. The data is kept for 14 months. Google acts as a processor, and its own privacy policy applies.
Server logs
The server that hosts this site records each request in its access logs, with the IP address it came from. The hosting provider holds these logs to keep the site secure and to fix problems. They are not used for analytics.
Cookies and storage
Unless you accept analytics, this site sets no cookies.
Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage, under the name sudoplay-consent, so you are not asked again. Local storage is not a cookie and is never sent to the server. A decline is stored there too, so no server can read it.
Only if you accept, Google Analytics sets its own cookies, _ga and _ga_<id>, to tell repeat visits apart. If you decline, they are never created.
You can clear all of this at any time in your browser's settings for this site. If you clear sudoplay-consent, the site asks you again.
Changing your mind
To change your choice, use Analytics settings in the footer of any page. It forgets your choice, reloads the page and asks again. The reload stops anything that was already loaded. Until you accept again, Google Analytics does not load.
Legal basis
For Google Analytics, the legal basis is consent, under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You give it when you press Accept analytics, and you can withdraw it at any time from the footer.
For the server logs, the legal basis is legitimate interest, under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: keeping the site available and secure.
Where your data goes
The site is served from Italy.
If you accept Google Analytics, the data it collects goes to Google LLC in the United States, which is outside the European Economic Area. This transfer relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, a decision of the European Commission from July 2023. Google LLC is certified under it.
If you decline, nothing about you goes to Google, because nothing from Google ever loads.

Links to other sites
Some links, like the ones to GitHub, take you to another website. They are ordinary links: nothing is requested from that website until you click. After that, its own privacy terms apply.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to see the personal data held about you, to have it corrected or erased, to limit or object to its use, to receive it in a portable form, and to complain to a data protection authority.
To use any of these rights, write to hello@albertoarena.it. Every request gets an answer.
Changes
If this site is going to collect anything new, this page changes before it does, and so does the date at the top.
